Adaptation of growth and yield of several hybrid corn varieties of Balitbangtan on dryland agroecosystems in young Albasia Forest Area

Abstract Select varieties with high yields and adaptive to the environment are one way increase corn productivity. The study aimed determine adaptability of growth yield characteristics superior national hybrid maize shade stress. was carried out in a community forest area, Kalices Village, Kendal Regency, from March-September 2020. designed using split-split plot randomized block design treatments for each sub-plot: (1) blocks 0%, 20%, 40%; (2) application cultivation technology plant management recommendations Integrated Crop Management (PTT) farmer recommendations; (3) Varieties JH-37, NASA-29, existing hybrids. Data were analyzed variance; if they significantly different, further tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. results showed that highest capacity obtained local density 20%. variety Bisi-18 dry shelled 5.9 t/ha, followed Nasa 29 5.8 t/ha shelled, JH 37 5.2 shelled.
